Firefighters put out brush fire in Bastrop

BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) — 2:29 p.m.- Bastrop County Emergency Services say the 12-acre fire is 100% under control. Firefighters are now mopping up the area.


The Bastrop Fire Department and several other fire departments responded to the scene of a brush fire Saturday afternoon.

The Bastrop Police Department received a call of a small grass fire east of State Highway 95 on State Highway 71 at 1:00 p.m.

According to the Bastrop Police Department, the fire was slow moving and firefighters were able to control it once they arrived on scene.

Bastop Police asks for the public not to call 9-1-1 for information about the fire.
