Community comes together to beautify Dobie Middle School

People of all ages and sizes came to help Dobie Middle School Saturday morning.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Hundreds of volunteers met today to pitch in and beautify Dobie Middle School.

The beautification process included planting vegetation, installing new structures, and applying new paint.

“I felt really proud this morning driving up and not being able to park because there’s so many people here working on making this spot reach its potential,” said Ben McCormack, a 7th grade assistant principle for Dobie Middle School.

Those involved hope this will show a positive partnership between the Dobie Middle School administration and the Dobie Middle School community.

“This field of support, it’s different. A lot of times in education you can feel out there alone, and events like this kinda prove that we’re not, that there’s a lot of us that have the same goals, and it’s doing what’s best for kids,” said Ben McCormack, a 7th Grade Assistant Principle for Dobie Middle School.
