CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) — It was a battle for bragging rights in the Leander Independent School District when Rouse and Leander met Friday at Bible Stadium.

The Raiders claimed district supremacy with a 38-24 win.

Rouse may have the higher expectations of the two, but they entered the matchup looking for their first win of the season after a difficult early-season schedule.

Leander snapped a 12-game losing streak in week 2 with a 33-21 victory over Pflugerville, but they weren’t able ride the momentum into week three.

Marquise Williams had two touchdowns early on, including a long, 56-yard touchdown. The Lions mounted a strong second-half comeback, but fell short as Rouse won its first game of the season 38-14.
