Texas High School Football Week Three: Hays vs. Lake Travis

Hays and Lake Travis met at Cavalier Stadium in the 14-6A district opener for both teams.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Lake Travis beat Hays 49-13 in the district 14-6A opener.

Coming in to the 2015 matchup, the Rebels led the all-time series 3-1, but Lake Travis won last season 62-23.

The Cavaliers came in to the matchup 2-0 and ranked no. 9 in the Associated Press 6A poll. They are the lone central Texas team in the top 10 in the state’s largest classification.

Hays entered the matchup 1-1 after a 59-30 loss to Georgetown in week 2.

Lake Travis jumped out to an early lead thanks to the Brewer brothers as Charlie found younger brother Cade for a quick touchdown.

The Rebels lost starting quarterback Braden Kent in the first half after he left the game after an apparent knee injury on a touchdown pass to Will Ratliff.

Cade Green also scored on a punt return for a touchdown later in the half.
