Cedar Park releases Labor Day DWI enforcement numbers

Cedar Park (KXAN) – Cedar Park Police Department increased patrols from August 21 through September 7 in response to the end of summer and Labor Day traffic.

During the initiative, officers made seven Class B misdemeanor arrests (first DWI offense), two Class A misdemeanor arrests (second DWI offense), one State Jail Felony arrest (DWI with a child passenger) and two Third Degree Felony arrests (three or more DWI offenses).

Officers conducted 107 traffic stops, issued 116 warnings and 17 citations and worked a total of 127 hours throughout the operation period.

The increased patrols were funded by a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program grant. This was the final STEP enforcement initiative of the fiscal year.
