TxDOT unveils new improvements to 290

AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) — Good news for drivers stuck in traffic in Southwest Austin. The orange cones on the road will be removed today.

This is part of TxDOT’s opening for their new improvements on U.S. 290 and William Cannon Drive.

The new feature is called a “continuous flow intersection.”

The intersection improves congestion and safety in the area.

It is designed to allow left-turning traffic and through-traffic to move at the same time.
