Neurologists warn dangers of athlete concussions

AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) — Before you hit the football field, doctors want you to be mindful of the dangers of concussions.

Dr. Darryl Camp, neurologist at the Lakeway Regional Medical Center, warns young football players to watch out for signs of a concussion.

He said that most often the symptoms are subtle and go unnoticed; like headaches or sleep difficulties.

Camp wants coaches and parents of athletes to fully understand how concussions affect the brain so they can be prevented.
