PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — How and why a woman was shot to death in Northeast Travis County last night, is what investigators are still trying to figure out tonight. The shooting happened just after 7 p.m. Tuesday night in the 13800 block of Windmill Circle near Pflugerville.
Walking in the neighborhood makes Nathen Mendoza and Fred Arroyo a little uneasy, after what happened near their home Tuesday night.
“I was on my way back from the store and I seen [sic] everything blocked off and I was like ‘man something happened,’ because it’s never like that,” said Mendoza.
Behind the crime scene tape, Travis County Sheriff’s deputies found 20-year-old Ke’Osha Kanada dead, with a gunshot wound to the chest. Police say there were two other people inside the home when the shooting happened. One person was arrested on an unrelated aggravated battery warrant.
Neighbors say this area has seen its fair share of crime, like burglaries, but seeing a death, makes them nervous.
“I don’t like it, I don’t like it at all,” said Arroyo.
“We take care of each other out here, we all look out for each other. This happening kind of makes everybody turn a shoulder a little bit. Everybody is kind of on the edge right now,” said Mendoza.
These friends say they know some of the people who live in the house where Ke’Osha was found but they just want to know what happened.
Authorities say they still don’t have anyone in custody relating to this death investigation.
