Parts of San Marcos under a boil water notice

SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) — If you live south of McCarty Lane in San Marcos, you’ll need to boil your water before you drink it.

On Saturday afternoon, a contractor hit a water main on Foxtail Run, which is causing crews to do emergency water repair.

While the water is not contaminated, it is a precaution until the city receives test results showing the water is safe. Residents in the impacted area are advised to boil water for two minute and allow it to cool prior to consumption

The city expects the boil water notice will be lifted Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Customers with question can contact the City at 512-393-8010.
