AUSTIN (KXAN) — Travis County Commissioners passed a plan revising the mass Gathering Permit Application process.

A “mass gathering” is any gathering that attracts more than 2,500 people or if 500 people attending an event are under 21 and alcoholic beverages will be present.

Any musical event with more than 5,000 people on two or more consecutive days is considered an “outdoor music festival.”

The Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office is now the official point of contact for submitting mass gathering permit applications.

You can see a full agenda document here, the mass gathering procedures start on page 115.
