Parents encouraged to report unsafe products

500,000 Precious Cargo outfits are being recalled because they could pose a choking hazard.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — We report on recalls all of the time, many of them affecting your kids.

One recent example includes a onesie made by Precious Cargo.

According to our sister station, WSPA-TV, 500,000 of the outfits are being recalled because they could pose a choking hazard due to the detachable onesie snaps.

Before that recall can be issued, parents like you have to to report it.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says you should report problems you spot, no matter how minor. That way other parents can learn about the dangers.

Local mother Meghan Bell said “just knowing that if something were to happen from such a small incident that could have been prevented, would just be heartbreaking.”

Safeproducts.gov is a site where you can report dangerous products and sign up for email alerts when a product has been recalled.
