Travis County Fire Marshals investigating fire at Chitown Hot Dogs

According to Lake Travis Fire Rescue fire damage is minimal and they are still estimating the cost of the damage.

LAKE TRAVIS, Texas (KXAN) — Travis County Fire Marshal’s are investigating a fire that happened at Chitown Hot Dogs Saturday morning in lake Travis.

According to Lake Travis Fire Rescue the alarm came in at 12:34 at the 2100 block of FM 620. When fire crews arrived on scene they found fire to be showing from the exterior rear corner of the building. The fire was ruled under control within 20 minutes of the crews’ arrival.

Two men that were in the building at the time were able to exit without injuries. Chitown was closed for the day.

According to Lake Travis Fire Rescue fire damage was minimal and they are still estimating the cost of the damage. The Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

Lake Travis Fire Rescue reminds the community to be cautious and aware of other driver’s reactions when passing the scene of an emergency. Pay attention to the road and the traffic in front and to the sides of your vehicle. “Lookyloos” can cause accidents and endanger other motorists and emergency crews working in the area.
