AUSTIN (KXAN)- The Lower Colorado River Authority has a new free tool to help you save money on your water bill while keeping your lawn green.

Our partners at the Austin Monitor report the LCRA is teaming up with Texas A&M to produce a computer program called WaterMyYard.

LCRA uses 6 gauges around Austin to measure exactly how much water your plants need to grow and develop.

Anyone in Austin as well as Cedar Park, Dripping Springs, Lakeway, Marble Falls and Pflugerville can sign up to get weekly updates by text or email.
