AUSTIN (KXAN) — Travis County Fire Rescue responded to a fire reported at the Travis County Correctional Facility in Southeast Austin early Saturday morning. Officials say it was a small fire, confined to one jail cell and they were able to knock it down quickly.

EMS transported one inmate to Brackenridge with potentially serious injuries as a result of the fire. Travis County Sheriff public information officer Roger Wade says the area is being treated as a crime scene. According to Wade, any sort of incident that takes place in a jail is considered a crime scene while they investigate.

Travis County Fire Rescue is ruling the fire an accident.
