Round Rock home invasion leads to SWAT call

ROUND ROCK (KXAN) – Two men are behind bars after, Round Rock police, say they restrained a man with duct tape and robbed him at gunpoint in his home on Wednesday.

Police received a call for a robbery in progress at 1:55 p.m in the 3900 block of Whitey Ford Way. Upon arrival at the scene, the victim was able give them information about the getaway vehicle and name one of the men who robbed him. Police tracked that vehicle to a home in Hutto.

SWAT was called to assist as the men were believed to be dangerous. Investigators found a stolen vehicle and property taken from the Round Rock home.

Police were able to arrest Gilbert Wayne Flores, 29, and Joe Michael Zapata, 20, and

Flores was charged with aggravated robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and a parole violation. Zapata was charged with aggravated robbery. Both are being held in the Williamson County Jail. Additional charges may be filed.
