Travis County aims to register more voters

Members of the Travis County Tax Office offered voter registration assistance at the Family Field Day Saturday morning.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The presidential election may be a year away, but that isn’t stopping Travis County from registering voters.

Saturday the Travis County Tax officials arrived at the Family Field Day in the Mueller neighborhood to offer assistance to those who wanted to register.

According to Travis County tens of thousands of Central Texans are not currently registered.

Travis County says that they need 80-thousand people to sign up to hit a target of 90% eligible voters in the area.
