Austin police searching for man who held woman against her will

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are searching for a man who they say held a woman against her will and tried to strangle her back in June.

Haymond Middleton, 27, has outstanding warrants for aggravated assault/family violence and kidnapping. According to Texas Department of Public Safety records, Middleton is a registered sex offender. In 1998, he was convicted of attempting to commit aggravated sexual assault of a 13-year-old.

On June 16, police responded to a 911 call involving a woman being held against her will. The woman reported Middleton choked her as he drove her around in a car. Middleton is considered dangerous.

Anyone with information about Middleton’s whereabouts are asked to call APD’s Family Violence Unit at 512-974-6698 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.
