6000+ hit with power outage in Southeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) – More than 8,000 people were without power after a transformer tripped at a southeast Austin substation Monday evening.

According to Austin Energy, the outage occurred around 6:30 p.m. Monday. The majority of customers affected are in the Ben White, Oltorf, Riverside and Montopolis areas north of State Highway 71.

As of 8:48p.m., all customers had their power restored.
