Evacuations begin after Colima Volcano in Mexico erupts

Volcán de Colima has erupted several times after first coming to life on Thursday.

MEXICO CITY (KXAN) — Mexico’s most active volcano continues to belch ash and smoke into the sky.

Lava from Volcán de Colima light the night sky in the Mexican state of Colima, and after the eruption lava could be seen flowing down its slopes.

The volcano was last active in January and February of this year.

Villages within three miles of the volcano have been evacuated.
