Suspect charged in large-scale Austin marijuana operation

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police have charged a man with several counts of drug possession related to a May drug raid in South Austin in which police seized hundred of marijuana plants and more than 11 pounds of pot, according to an arrest warrant.

The May 5 drug bust occurred at 3702 Alexandria Drive. Police said the Alexandria home was in the “care, custody and control” of Ronnie Dwight Toth, 36. Police charged Toth with several drug related offenses. At the Alexandria home located off Brodie Lane between William Cannon Drive and Davis Lane, police found more than 400 marijuana plants, the affidavit states.

Separate from the Alexandria Drive house, police said Toth maintained his residence at 5040 Bluestar Drive, and he was keeping money and more drugs at that home, according to the affidavit. Bluestar is located in South Austin near the intersection of La Crosse Drive and MoPac Expressway.

When police searched the Bluestar Drive residence, they seized over 17 pounds of marijuana as well as several grams of illegal mushrooms, cocaine and THC, according to the warrant.
