AUSTIN (KXAN) — A big change may impact your morning and afternoon rush-hour drives. Austin police will be enforcing the “Don’t Block the Box” campaign in other parts of the city.

Right now, drivers caught blocking downtown intersections get cited by APD officers.

The new intersections police will be watching now include

  • North Lamar Blouevard and Rundberg Lane in North Austin
  • Riverside and Pleasant Valley drives in Southeast Austin
  • U.S. Highway 183 and Loyola Lane in East Austin
  • 2222 at 620 in West Austin

APD officers will be monitoring these intersections between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and also between 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Other intersections will be added in the coming weeks.
