AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is increasing patrols for the Fourth of July. Now through July 7, troopers will focus on high-risk spots during the times when alcohol-related crashes typically happen.

Troopers arrested about 1,000 drivers this time last year. Of those, more than 200 arrests were in high-risk areas.
