Hays Co. floods caused estimated $33M in damages

SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) — Hays County officials released new numbers Thursday showing 321 home were destroyed in the May 23 flood, and another 322 suffered major damage. More than 370 homes had minor damage and 496 others were affected in some way by the floods, the county said.

The damage estimate currently stands at $33 million, but that number could change as other areas of the county become more accessible.

The county said an estimate for damaged businesses was not yet available.
