Georgetown will play for state championship

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — The Georgetown high school baseball team is making the most of their first trip to the state tournament. The Eagles beat Aledo 8-2 on Thursday night at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock to advance to the 5A State Championship game against Prosper at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Georgetown led 2-1 in the 3rd when senior George Janca, who has signed to play at Texas A&M, drilled an RBI triple to left field and scored on a throwing error to give the Eagles a 4-1 lead. Then, in the 5th, sophomore Parker Tadlock hit a two-out, three-run double to give Georgetown a 7-1 lead.

Blake Anderson pitched a complete game allowing five hits and an earned run for the win on the mound.
