Man shot in Southeast Austin robbery attempt

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was taken to the hospital with potentially serious injuries after he was shot Monday night in Southeast Austin. Police were called shortly after 10 p.m. to the 2500 block of Elmont Drive, near Pleasant Valley Road.

Austin-Travis County EMS said a caller reported hearing yelling, followed by gunshots. Austin police added that the shooting came during a robbery attempt, but it was unclear who was shot.

The man was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge. No further information about the man or the shooting was immediately available.
