Girl critically hurt after being hit by car in Southeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A young girl was critically injured after being hit by a car Friday evening in Southeast Austin. Austin-Travis County EMS said the girl, who was younger than 10, was hit while crossing the street with an adult about 6:15 p.m. in the 7600 block of Bluff Springs Road.

She was taken to Dell Children’s Medical Center.

Authorities said the driver stayed at the scene. The road was closed while police investigated the crash.
