BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) — Water has breached the dam at Bastrop State Park Lake, according to the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management.

The campground has been evacuated, but county officials are worried about damage downstream. People living along Copperas Creek and in the Eastern Tahitian Village Area were asked to seek higher ground.

County officials said State Highway 71 was briefly flooded from water spilling out of the park.
