Glass blowers make art for charity

AUSTIN (KXAN) – More than 40 of Texas’ top glass artists will showcase their unique talents, techniques, and artwork at the Armadillo Art Glass Initiative’s 2015 Main Event.

It happens this weekend at St. Elmo’s Fire Studio located at 510 E. St. Elmo Road.

The event, which is open to anyone 18 and older, will feature live glass blowing demonstrations, live painting, music, food trucks, drinks and much more.

Proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels and More. Since 2013, the Armadillo Art Glass Initiative Main Event has raised more than $40,000 for for Meals on Wheels. Last year, Meals on Wheels and More distributed nearly 750,000 meals to Central Texans who have no way of accessing food on their own.
