AUSTIN (KXAN) — While former Texas Gov. Rick Perry hasn’t officially announced his intentions for 2016, a Tweet sent out Friday morning by his wife, Anita Perry, indicates they will make an announcement in June.

In the post, Anita Perry says “I have been discussing the future of this great country and how our family can play a role.” The post then links to an event in Dallas hosted by RickPAC featuring Gov. Perry and Mrs. Perry.

Over the past few months, Perry has visited Iowa and attended numerous GOP events throughout the country. He also hired five Iowa staffers. A handful of Perry’s former aides and allies have launched the Opportunity and Freedom PAC, which can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money on Perry’s behalf.

Perry finished fifth in the Iowa caucuses in early 2012 and quit the race two weeks later.
