Several Central Texas schools rank high on ‘best of’ list

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Some of the best high schools in the country are right here in Central Texas.

According to the U.S. News World and Report’s 2015 Best High School List, LASA High School in Austin ISD ranks 36th nationwide. That is out of 21,000 schools.

The Richards School for Young Women Leaders comes in at No. 123.

Round Rock ISD’s Westwood High School and Leander ISD’s Vandegrift High School also rank high at 224 and 437 respectively.

The rankings are based on student enrollment, diversity, how students score on state standardized exams and on AP tests.
