WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Three people were rescued from high water in southeastern Williamson County on Wednesday morning.

According to a Williamson County spokesperson, crews rescued two men from their car just before 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of FM 619 and CR 498. Around the same time, a woman was rescued from her car at CR 450 and CR 467. The woman who made the initial rescue call ended up trapped in high water herself.

There were no serious injuries nor any people hospitalized in these incidents.

According to the KXAN First Warning Weather Team, the area of southeastern Williamson County received 5- to 7 inches of rain late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Numerous agencies helped out with the rescues.

Meanwhile, the heavy storms overnight caused some significant damage, as lightning sparked two house fires in Manor, a car got stuck in creek floodwaters near Manor, 75 feet of roadway was washed out on Steiner Ranch Road, and there were widespread power outages. The heavy rains overnight also caused issues on Capitol of Texas Highway, where a rockslide near FM 2222 closed down one of the lanes several hours as crews cleaned up the mess.
