LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — The second phase of construction on Lakeline Boulevard in Leander officially wrapped on Monday and drivers have a new roadway to use.
The project extends Lakeline Boulevard from Old Quarry Road to Leander Road. The project was a part of the 2006 Road Bond Project. The $2.8 million project was completed in about a year.
Local land owner, Linda Hall, grew up in Leander and has watched the area grow. She feels this new stretch of road will free up some traffic jams around town.
“When you get on 183 or 183A, it has gotten crowded, Parmer is crowded as well.” says Hall. “There are a lot of people who live out west who are really trapped as far as getting into town. Lakeline will help tremendously in getting them access much closer than what they had been using.”
Currently the roadway is two lanes, but as long-term transportation needs increase, developers hope to expand the roadway to four lanes of traffic.
