Texas tornadoes swirl across multiple counties

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The state of Texas experienced strong storms Sunday as many counties were under tornado watches and warnings. A total of 16 tornadoes touched down in Texas — one outside of Stephenville and some reported just south of the DFW area.

It was nasty in the Austin area, but we didn’t get hit as hard as some North Texas communities. A supercell over Dublin — southwest of Dallas – can be seen in the top video. The storms also brought large hail, along with damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph. The highest wind gust in Central Texas was 59 mph.
