Training exercise gives students an up-close view of law enforcement

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Tuesday morning, a training exercise is giving students at one Round Rock high school an up-close-and-personal look at law enforcement. The Cedar Ridge High School Law and Public Safety Program is hosting a multiagency training exercise.

Members of the Round Rock Police Department SWAT team joined the Austin Police Department Bomb Squad and Air Support Unit for Tuesday’s exercise. The law and safety program courses offer Cedar Ridge students an introduction to the various career paths that exist in all major areas of law enforcement and the criminal justice field.

The training ran from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday on the band practice field east of Cedar Ridge High School. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
