(AUSTIN) — A rare Gibson guitar stolen in 2009 was returned to Walt Wilkin on Tuesday after an Austin Police Department detective saw someone trying to sell the instrument online. Wilkin’s custom guitar was stolen after a show in Austin just before Christmas that year.

The Gibson was one of just three made with wood from the Army barracks in Marfa, Texas, police said. The other two were given to Willie Nelson and Dan Rather.

APD Det. Jay Swann, who is also a guitar builder, saw the post online and relayed the information to his colleagues. The department set up a meeting with the seller and recovered the guitar on Saturday. Police say the case is still under investigation.
