Man rescued after falling into lake near Longhorn Dam

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man had to be pulled from Lady Bird Lake by rescue crews Tuesday after falling nearly 20 feet just above the Longhorn Dam, according to the Austin Fire Department.

A special operations team from AFD and Austin-Travis County EMS used a boat to reach the, who is in his 30s, and shuttle him back to shore. He was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge about 4 p.m. with injuries that were not life threatening.

Further information about the man or how he fell into the lake was not immediately available.
