Express home opener suspended due to rain

Round Rock's home opener against Memphis was suspended due to rain

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Round Rock’s home opener against Memphis was suspended Friday night with one out in the bottom of the second inning and the Express leading 3-1.

They’ll finish the game with a double header on Sunday starting at 1:05. The second game will only be seven innings.

Whether or not the game would even be played was in question due to heavy rain in Round Rock, but, instead, the game was only delayed 30 minutes.

In the bottom of the first, following back-to-back singles, Michael Choice hit his first home run of the season to deep center to give the E-Train a 3-1 lead.

Memphis took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single through the right side from Ed Easley to score Dean Anna.

Saturday’s game is still scheduled for a 6:05 first pitch. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
