HUTTO, Texas (KXAN) — Hutto High School was briefly locked down Friday after a student armed with a gun tried to steal medicine from the school nurse. A district spokesperson said the student returned to the campus about 4:15 p.m. and showed the gun to the nurse, but did not get any medicine.
The Hutto High School student was taken into custody by Hutto Police, but his name is not being released because he is a juvenile. It is not yet known what discipline the student will face.
The high school and nearby Nadine Johnson Elementary School were placed on lockdown for about 15 minutes. No one was injured.
