AUSTIN (KXAN) — A SWAT team successfully negotiated the surrender of a robbery suspect overnight. This unfolded on Mallard Green Lane. That’s a dead end off Bratton Lane, between North MoPac and Interstate 35.

At 2:30 a.m. Thursday, someone flagged down a deputy to report the robbery. The deputy spotted the suspect car and pulled it over, but they say the suspect refused to come out and even told deputies he had weapons. That’s when they brought out SWAT and crisis negotiators.

After two hours, they convinced the suspect to give up and arrested him without incident.
