First 500 lifeguard hires get $100 sign-on bonus

AUSTIN (KXAN) — If you’re looking for a job this summer, the city announced a new incentive to become a lifeguard. The Aquatic Division and Austin Parks Foundation partnered to offer $100 bonuses to the first 500 lifeguards hired for the summer. In addition, starting pay ranges from $8 an hour to $10.25. They need a total of 750 lifeguards to fully staff the pools.

If you want to sign up, the city is hosting another job fair Thursday evening at its training facility at San Gabriel Street and Lamar Boulevard. It starts at 4 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m.
