CALDWELL COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A man is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following a stabbing that sent another man to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
Deputies on their way to the home in the 6500 block of Seawillow Road on Friday pulled over Gabriel Fernandez, 22, after a witness provided officers with a description of his vehicle. Fernandez was arrested and booked into the Caldwell County Jail.
Authorities say the victim was taken by a family member to Seton Hospital in Luling, Texas, and was later transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin. The man was stabbed once in the upper back and once in his abdomen, according to police.
