Colorado City murder suspect arrested in New Braunfels

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) — A west Texas man wanted in connection with a murder case was arrested in New Braunfels on Wednesday. According to New Braunfels police, an officer on routine patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Edelweiss Inn. When the officer checked the vehicle’s license plate, it came back connected to Jason Ybarra, 42, who was wanted for murder out of Colorado City, Texas.

When officers saw Ybarra leave the hotel and get into his car, they followed him and arrested him without incident. Colorado City detectives picked up Ybrarra from the Comal County Jail and transported him back to their jurisdiction the same day. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
