Argyle High School building collapse kills one person

DENTON COUNTY, Texas (KXAS) — One person has died, and at least two others have reportedly been injured, when an under-construction building collapsed at Argyle High School Thursday morning. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has been called to the scene, though further information about the person killed is not yet known.

Firefighters reported that several people were trapped when an indoor practice facility collapsed at the school at about 7:30 a.m. No students were near the building when it collapsed, according to Denton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sandi Brackeen. Northstar Builders Group, the company in charge of the construction, confirmed the collapse.

Two people were transported to Denton Regional Medical Center, according to Denton County dispatchers.
