Police ID motorcyclist killed in weekend crash

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed early Sunday after colliding with a truck along the Interstate 35 service road.

Police say Crayvon Corpening was heading south between Wells Branch Parkway and Howard Lane about 1:15 a.m. at a high rate of speed when his motorcycle ran into the back of a pickup. Corpening fell off the motorcycle and slid along the road before hitting a parked car on the grassy shoulder. He died at the scene.

The case is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Austin Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide Unit at 512-974-5312.

This was Austin’s 24th deadly traffic crash and the 24th death of 2015. At this time in 2014, there were 11 deadly crashes and 15 traffic deaths.
