AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man is his 20s was seriously injured Thursday after being shot in the chest, according to Austin Police. The shooting happened about 8 p.m. near Roxanna Drive and Slaughter Lane in South Austin.
Authorities said as many as 50 people may have been involved in a neighborhood dispute when someone pulled out a gun and fired five or six shots. The shooting suspect was taken into custody, and officers said they recovered a weapon nearby with the help of a police dog. Authorities said multiple other people are facing charges.
The victim was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with potentially life threatening injuries, according to Austin-Travis County EMS. No further information was immediately available.
