Motorcyclist dies in Leander crash

Leander Police are investigating after fatal crash that killed a motorcyclist.

LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — A motorcyclist died after a crash in Leander at 9:30 p.m. Monday. The man was heading south on U.S. Highway 183 when he was hit by a Kia that was heading north and trying to turn left onto Osage Drive.

Officials say the motorcyclist was a 20-year-old man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car, a 45-year-old man, told police he didn’t see the motorcycle. He was taken to Round Rock Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police are investigating whether the motorcycle had its lights on at the time of the crash. Leander police have also said drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash.
