East Austin crash knocks out power to more than 2,400

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A vehicle that crashed into a utility pole in East Austin on Tuesday night knocked out power to more than 2,400 Austin Energy customers. The crash happened about 8:15 p.m. in the 7000 block of Decker Lane.

By 9 p.m. crews had restored power to about 75 percent of the customers. Austin Energy crews were also working to replace the damaged pole.

The driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
