Austin’s traffic congestion ranks 13 nationwide

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A new study Tuesday morning ranks the worst cities when it comes to sitting in traffic. It’s no surprise that Austin is on it — ranking No. 13. According to GPS navigation and mapping company TomTom, our congestion level sits at 25 percent.

For people with a 30-minute drive, the delay per day averages about 21 minutes. That adds up to 80 hours a year sitting in traffic. The most congested day of the week is Wednesday.

By the way, the No. 1city in the U.S. for the worst congestion is Los Angeles, followed by San Francisco.
