HOUSTON (AP) — Two dozen men have been charged in separate Houston-area online sex solicitation investigations by neighboring counties.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday announced 12 arrests in a sting last week of men allegedly trying to meet children for sex.
Spokesman Bob Haenel says the men are charged with online solicitation of a minor and attempted sexual assault. All remained in custody Tuesday after last week’s undercover investigation.
The announcement came a day after the Harris County District Attorney’s Office said 12 men were arrested after showing up at a home to meet someone they thought was a child. Those suspects are charged with online solicitation of a minor. If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison.
The Harris County sting was last Wednesday through Friday.
