Risks of aspirin use increase as person ages

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One local doctor is urging older adults to reconsider taking an aspirin everyday to prevent heart attacks.

We previously brought you information from the Food and Drug administration that the long held belief that aspirin can do more harm than good when taken daily.

Dr. Lianne Marks with Baylor Scott & White in Round Rock recently had an article in the Wall Street Journal about why the risks related to aspirin are just too great to justify routine use.

She spoke with Erin Cargile about why that is.
